IKR? You'd think they could have at least made the default layouts pretty, if we're going to have to live with them for a while. You can get custom layouts, but it's complicated. There's a few stylesheets somewhere that just modify the defaults, or you can go into your layers and import LJ layouts. I don't know anything really about coding, but I managed to do it using these (extremely helpful!) tutorials:
What I did was install Smooth Sailing and then customize it with a stylesheet from thefulcrum @ LJ. I tried to install Flexible Squares first, but it seemed to have some bugs :P
